the girls

have to say my girls teach me more about photography than anything else. I'm always free to experiment, break the rules and end up with interesting results. We were playing around the other day and here's the result :-)

GIFT CERTIFICATES ARE HERE!

Want to give a unique gift? This is it! You may now purchase gift certificates in any denomination toward photo sessions for your loved ones. Be sure to check out current specials to take advantage of extra savings and value!

Get a 30 minute mini session and necklace for $75

Unfortuantely, it's too late in the year as of now (November) to get a photo session and jewelry finished in time for christmas gifts. But alas I have found a solution! What better gift than that of photography. For a limited time I am offering mini sessions (around 30 minutes) and a small square necklace with the image of your choice for $75. YOU MAY ALSO UPGRADE TO A FULL SESSION FOR $25 MORE. Great unique gift idea and a great deal especially since the necklace alone retails for $50! Maybe you want to gift it to yourself - that's fine too! Present this elegant gift certificate to your loved ones for a gift they will remember for a lifetime! *Other images from session may be purchased separately. Photo sessions to be done in local Roseburg location.

Out of the "office" :-(

Well I was headed out to Baja with my baby girls - but they are both sick so we've had to postpone the trip. Soooo.... I am around but laying low with my sickies until they feel better. Back to "work" in a couple days.

Sean's senior photos

Sean wanted to do his photos in Oakland and it was so great - that town is so quaint and wonderful for photos. We ran around town and down to the train tracks and captured some great stuff. Here is a sneak peek for you Sean. Thanks for putting up with me!

fall in the park

went to the park with the girls today and the leaves were just gorgeous - VIBRANT! Of course Avery is pretty gorgeous herself and I conned her into posing for me in return for letting her take pictures of me too. She's handling the camera pretty well these days considering it weighs about as much as her - well not really but it's pretty heavy!! Arlie didn't quite make it out of the car - she was out like a light by the time we got there. ( I was only about five feet from the car the whole time if you were worried) We were at the "big" park in Oakland :-) The first one here is of avery pushing me on the merry go round. A little backwards I guess, but I like to have fun too!

Happy First Anniversary!

Thought it would be fun to recap all my weddings from 2008. So many different themes, places and ideas for all those brides (and grooms) in the planning stages. Happy first anniversary to all my 2008 couples! Happy planning to all those getting ready for their own special day in 2010.

A little about me...

Welcome to my new and improved blog! Well not really new, you can still see all my old posts, but with some added navigability.

I hope you find helpful information here about my products and services as well as some insight to who I am through the photos and stories I tell in my entries.

A crash course in ANNA:

I’m married to a wonderfully funny man who strives to make me crazy with his practical jokes and usually succeeds. We have two beautiful girls and now he strives to make them crazy too, which takes a lot of the pressure off me!

I’ve been photographing people and places since I received my first camera from my dad when I was around 9 years old. I didn’t really get SERIOUS about photography though, until I gave birth to my first little beauty almost 5 years ago.

I graduated in 2000 from Oregon State University with a degree in Psychology. They say that this can be a good background for photographers to have in relating with clients; I think it probably does help. The bigger picture I see there though says more about who I am and why I am interested in both psychology and photography. Quite simply, I am interested in people. It’s really fullfilling to make connections with people and share in their special moments. Being able to present them with beautiful images of these moments is like the cherry on top. Dream job? You could say that.

Anyway, check back often to see what's been going on lately in my world of photography. I've been a slacker in the past at blogging, but I am really trying I promise! If you have any questions or comments be sure to let me know. And for more specific info on sessions, weddings and pricing be sure to stop by my website at www.annaaasen.com

Thanks for stopping by!

nature

Had fun taking some photos around the yard of different flowers and textures from nature. We have been in Roseburg for a year now and I absolutely love the seasons here! I threw in a couple extras too - not really nature, but I did find them outside - so that counts right?
