Rachel & Jerry
Got to spend all kinds of time with these guys at both a farm outside Myrtle Point and also in Bandon at the lighthouse and beach. Such fun - and we got so many great images. Here are a few of my favorites. Had a hard time narrowing these down. Love the light and variety that barns have - need to find one up in this area for some shoots - love it, love it, love it....!

Mother's Day continued....
Well the morning photo shoot didn't work out but the afternoon one did - with my own quarky family!! Who could ask for more? We went and did our own brunch at Schooners in Netarts and then headed out to the beach for a stroll - figured out I really should have been at the beach to begin with if I wanted to take family photos for people - they were everywhere. Instead though I just took some snaps of my own fam sans me. And that my friends is why you need someone to take the photo for you - so you can be in it too. My kids are going to grow up thinking Dad took them everywhere and I was nowhere to be found. I was there I promise and even made aaron take a few pics of me with the girls - but.... alas I wouldn't dare post any here - still working on that post baby chin... it started when I was a baby and got even worse after I had my own!! Ha Ha - Anyway, I love my family!! And you can see why here:

Aaron can't seem to keep his eyes open - poor sensitive blue eyed boy! This is what I mean by my quarky family!!
my very serious girl - about 15 minutes from the nap time meltdown

amazing how they go from laughter to tears in an instant - gotta love those real life pics - this is my favorite by far:

Happy Mother's Day!
Well my photo shoot didn't go as well as planned - of course as is usually the case with the coast, the weather got in the way. I knew it would be risky business and the forecast wasn't too promising, but I still held out hope! I went to the park as planned, but within a 1/2 hour it was raining. I came home for a while and then headed back after it cleared up a bit - but I finally gave into the weather after another 1/2 hour of scattered showers. I really would like to organize something like this again, maybe need to do some better advertising next time and have a covered location. Anyway, I guess it's all a learning process!! :) I will have to think out the timing differently next time too - looked like a lot of people were at church at 9am this morning. Happy Mother's Day to all you Moms out there - hope you had a wonderful day with your families!

Kelsie & John
Went to Kilchis park to do photos for the first time with Kelsie and John. They are such a fun couple - I enjoyed capturing some of their silly moments. They seem to be very in tune with one another - even voicing the same comments in unison at times. and a great sense of humor with one another. It's always been my motto that laughter takes you far in a relationship - pretty sure this couple is on the right track to a successful marriage. Congratulations guys!

Mothers Day Photo Shoot - update
It's official! - I will be doing photos in the park - Goodspeed Park - Sunday, May 11th on Mother's day. 9-11am. Please spread the word to anyone you know who may be interested in participating. It will be contingent on weather. Wish I had an alternative (covered) pIace to do the photos in case of rain - but I don't at this time. If you have any suggestions for next year - please let me know. You can email me at anna@aasenavenues.com. Find more details in my blog post a couple days ago (scroll down the page to read more about this event) or at aasenavenues.com under Pricing/Specials. But to sum it up - this is an opportunity to bring mom to have her photo taken with family for FREE. You will have the chance to purchase prints at an online gallery later in the month. But there is no purchase necessary to have your photo taken. Hope to see you there!

Brenda & Rueben
Met with Brenda and Rueben yesterday for some evening shots by the river. Weather was touch and go and as my luck would have it by the time we got out there, there really wasn't a lot of light left. So we did just a few shots and are planning to meet again on another day to try for some more - hopefully we will have better luck. Still, I think we got a a couple cute ones. On a side note: It was funny - I called Brenda yesterday to talk about their shoot and their answering machine said "you have reached R & B" I love it! (Rueben & Brenda) They must REALLY be meant for each other!

FREE Mothers Day Photo Shoot (unofficial)
So I've brainstormed up the idea of having a free photo session for Moms and their family members on Mother's Day at Goodspeed Park in Tillamook. (3rd street by the railroad tracks) Still waiting to get approval from the City Manager but here is the skinny:
Basically, you can come by the park as you please between 9-11am on Sunday (Mother's Day - May 11th) or if you are afraid you might have to wait in line and would rather have a locked in time you can email or call to set up a "mini session" for the afternoon hours. Just to be clear, this is intended to get one nice shot of your family - not like a typical session with different poses and configurations. I will give everyone a card that will instruct them on where to access their photos online and you will have the option to purchase prints if you want. No minimum to buy and print prices are the same as always - just no session fee. I estimate that I will have the photos uploaded in 1-2 weeks for people to check out. They will be fun to just look through, even if you decide not to buy. I will put all the photos in one gallery - sorry no private galleries - so you will be able to see everyone's pics who participated. I'm hoping the drop by method works ok - we will see - hoping it will be like a "photo with Santa" only a little more glamorous! :) Hopefully no worries of long lines. It should be a fun day so stay tuned - I will be posting on the blog soon to keep everyone updated on whether I get the go ahead from the city or not - seems pretty straight forward, so hopefully it won't be a problem. Hope to see you there!
For print prices please refer to my website www.aasenavenues.com under pricing and portraits.

Mallory & Tony
As things work out Mallory and Tony came by my home to talk about my photography services for their wedding and the very same afternoon we were shooting their engagement photos. Living out of town, trying to pin down a day without rain to make the trip over would have been difficult - luckily weather was perfect when they were here. We went out to Oceanside to do their photos - they will be getting married there later this fall on the beach. I'm so excited to do their wedding right on the beach - it will be very romantic. Hopefully they have good weather, but rain or shine it will be beautiful just the same.

Mindy & Chris
Met up with Mindy and Chris for some engagement photos at Oceanside yesterday afternoon. It was a beautiful day....but oh sooo cold and windy!!! They were real troopers though and we had fun catching some silly as well as romantic photos. The wind can be a nuisance for hair sometimes - but in the end I love the movement it creates in photos. After all that's what the Oregon beach experience is all about! 2 1/2 months to go until the "big day" guys - looking forward to it!
